Berry and Banana Smoothie Bowl

When you blend together banana and mixed berries and add some yogurt, you’ll get a truly delicious and healthy smoothie bowl. It makes a perfect breakfast or snack at any time of the day. Smoothies can form part of a varied and balanced diet, so it’s a good idea to get into the routine of making your healthy smoothie for breakfast or at any time of the day.  😊


YOU'LL NEED

This simple smoothie recipe calls for three ingredients:

Banana: for great flavour and sweetness, use ripe bananas. You can use frozen or fresh banana slices.

Berries: use fresh or frozen berries to make this smoothie bowl.

Yogurt: I used plain dairy free yogurt.

 

TIPS

The smoothie recipe is delicious by itself, but feel free to be creative and add:

*Add more fresh or frozen fruit, such as ½ cup of blackberries or blueberries.

*Add ½ cup of greens like kale, chard or spinach.

*Add ½ avocado for extra creaminess and healthy fats.

*Add 1 scoop of protein powder, shop here.

*Add a few dates for natural sweetness.

*Add chia or hemp seeds for fibre.

 

TOPPING IDEAS

You can customize your bowl and add your favourite toppings, for example:

*shredded chocolate

*shredded coconut

*fresh fruit

*chia seeds

*granola

*mixed nuts

Ingredients

*½ cup frozen banana

*1 cup of mixed berries

*2 tbsp vegan yogurt

Optional

*shredded chocolate

 

Method

1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

2. Pour into a bowl and top with your desired toppings.

3. Serve immediately. Enjoy! 😊

* Best fresh.

*To Store: store this smoothie in the fridge for up to 2 days.
