YOU’LL NEED
This recipe calls for the following 5 ingredients:
Pear: available varieties differ depending where you live. The most popular British varieties are Concorde, Williams and Conference, they’re perfectly fine for poaching.
Vanilla extract: you can add vanilla pod instead (split lengthways).
Sweetener: I used sweetener, it’s fine to use honey or maple syrup instead.
Cinnamon: I used ground cinnamon here, you can substitute it with 1 cinnamon stick.
Lemon juice: fresh juice of a lemon.

TIPS
Making poached pears is pretty simple, let’s have a look at a few bits of advice to make sure that everything goes well.
*choose ripe pears for this poached pear recipe, for best results they shouldn’t be too ripe nor unripe, as they won't poach well.
*if you use very ripe pears, reduce cooking time, they may be ready in 20 mins.
*for a nicer look, cutting the base of his pears will allow them to stay upright.
*when the pears are ready, remove them from the liquid. Carry on cooking the liquid to cook it down to about half, to get a richer sauce.
*these pears are meal prep friendly, you can keep them in the fridge for 4-5 days.
