Apple Pie Smoothie

Do you fancy a super quick breakfast smoothie which by the way tastes like a pie? This Apple pie smoothie is ready in no time! Blend apple, oats, banana and the rest into a creamy smoothie. This cinnamon spiced, healthy autumn drink is not just for mornings but a great treat at any time of the day. Apart from the health benefits, the other bonus is the amazing apple-pie taste. It’s a must try! Heavenly delicious drink.

YOU’LL NEED
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make this delicious smoothie:
Oat:  if you’re on a gluten free diet you need to buy gluten free oats as manufacturing can cause cross contamination. Hence if the product does not specify gluten free, the manufacturer cannot guarantee that your oat is gluten free.
Banana: for sweetness best to use ripe banana. You can use frozen banana too.
Apple: any apple is fine, the most popular ones are Granny Smith, Gala and Golden apples.
Milk: any milk is fine here, for example rice, almond or oat milk.
Cinnamon: use ground cinnamon, or you can add mixed spice instead.
Mixed spice: in the US it’s called pumpkin pie spice. Both are a mixture of spices, including cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg. A heavenly scent!
Walnuts: I used chopped walnuts for toppings, they provide delicious flavour!

OPTIONAL MIX-INS
These are just a few ideas you can add to this smoothie but I wouldn’t change too many things, as this smoothie is fine as it is! 😊
*nuts: I used walnuts for topping, but you might want to try and blend it together with the other ingredients.  
*spices: in this recipe I used mixed spices and cinnamon, you can add additionally ground cloves and nutmeg or more cinnamon.

 APPLE PIE SMOOTHIE


            Preparation time: 3 minutes

Cooking time: N/A

Total time: 3 minutes

Servings: 2 glasses

 

Ingredients

*  ⅓ cup gluten free oats, blended

* 1 ripe banana

* 1 apple

* 1 cup plant milk

* 1 tsp cinnamon

* 1 tsp mixed spice

* 2 walnuts

 

Method

1. Wash and chop apple into chunks, slice banana and blend with ⅓ rd of the milk.

2. Add cinnamon, oats, mixed spice, cinnamon and the rest of the milk. Blend again until smooth.

Notes

* To Store: keep in the fridge covered for 1-2 days.

* To Freeze: freeze it up to 2 months.
