Tahini Protein Balls

I haven’t had energy balls for a while so I thought it’s time to make some! These nutritious little treats are an excellent source of protein, antioxidants and fibre amongst other healthy elements. Thankfully to their fibre and protein content they will keep you fuller for longer. 😊

 It’s so easy to make these protein balls with simply pantry ingredients that we usually have on hand. This snack is a perfect and  healthy on-the-go snack before or after workout!

YOU’LL NEED
This simple recipe calls for only a few cupboard ingredients:
*Tahini
*Protein powder, shop here
*Cacao powder
*Ground almond
*Agave syrup
*Shredded coconut/chopped nuts

GET CREATIVE
Get creative and substitution ideas see here:
*Tahini: not a fan of tahini? Try almond, peanut or any nut or seed butter instead.
*Cacao powder: you can leave it out and use a bit more ground almond.
*Ground almond: maybe you could try ground pecan nuts.
*Agave syrup: use honey for the non-vegan version or try sweetener.

Eating this snack has a lot of health benefits. Tahini is a versatile and nutritious ingredient to include in various dishes. The delicious tahini paste is made of sesame seeds. TAHINI PROTEIN BALLS

(raw, vegan, gluten, wheat and refined sugar free)

 

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Total time: 5 minutes

Serves: 2

 

Ingredients

* 6 tbsp tahini

* 1 tbsp protein powder

* 1 tbsp cacao powder

* 6 tbsp ground almond

* 3 tbsp agave syrup

For coating:

* shredded coconut

* chopped nuts

 

Method

1. In a large mixing bowl stir everything together until combined.

2. Chill the mixture in the fridge for about 1-2 hours (you can skip this).

3. Take 1tbsp portion and roll the mixture into small balls with your hands.

4. Roll the balls into shredded coconut and/or chopped nuts.

Notes

**To Store: these balls keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.

**To Freeze: they can be frozen for up to 3 months.
